The operational components of this office are tax education and information, field inspection of private, commercial or industrial establishments, disbursements and cash receipts. This office is headed by a Municipal Treasurer who acts as the chief financial officer of the municipality. He advises the mayor, as the case may be, the local sanggunian and other local government and national officials concerned, regarding the disposition of local government funds, and on such other matters relative to public finance. She takes custody of and exercises proper management of the funds and takes charge of the disbursement of all local government funds and such other funds the custody of which may be entrusted to him by law or other competent authority. She inspects private commercial and industrial establishments within the jurisdiction of the local government unit in relation to the implementation of tax ordinance, pursuant to the provisions of the Local Government Code. He maintains and updates the tax information system of the LGU. The technical supervision of this office will be exercised by the provincial treasurer over all treasury offices of its municipalities.
