Sun.Star Iloilo reported on April 27, 2005: “Bugang River of Pandan, Antique was one of the rivers in the country, which received the “Dangal Ng Ilog” award, according to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) 6.”

Panay News reported on April 28, 2005: “This province’s pride, Bugang River, located in Pandan town gained another distinction as it was recently named one of the rivers in the whole Philippines adjudged as winner of the prestigious Dangal ng Ilog Awards.”
