Pandan, Antique - The Municipality of Pandan received 3 major awards during the National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Provincial Congress held at La Vita Park, San Jose, Antique, Philippines, last July 21, 2005.

The awards were given to Mayor Plaridel E. Sanchez VI as Outstanding Local Chief Executive, Mrs. Fe C. Ortega as Outstanding Social Welfare and Development Officer, and Mr. William A. Angor as Outstanding President of Association of Disabled Persons.

These awards were given in recognition of their unequivocal support for persons with disability.

The association of Persons with Disability in Pandan through the assistance of the Local Government Unit has undertaken several livelihood projects like sari-sari store, candle making, nito making, bag making and other crafts made of used paper and plastics.

Present during the congress were Antique Governor Sally Z. Perez and Director Teresita Rosales of the Department of Social Welfare and Development Region VI.
