Bugang River Cultural, Nature and Adventure Tour of Pandan, Antique, Region VI, was declared 1st runner-up of the “Hiyas ng Turismo 2006″ nationwide search for new and undiscovered tourist destinations in the Philippines.

The award was received by Pandan, Antique’s municipal tourism officer Jude D. Sanchez during the awarding ceremony which was held at the Hyatt Regency, Pasay City on Wednesday, March 28, 2006.

On the other hand, Sipalay City of Negros Occidental, Region VI, was awarded as the grand winner. Twin Falls of Cavinti, Laguna, Region IV, and Sibang Cove of Cagayan Valley, Region I, were declared 2nd runner-up and 3rd runner-up, respectively.

The Hiyas ng Turismo 2006 “Mga Bago at Tanging Naiibang Destinasyon Pang Turismo” was organized by the Women In Travel-Manila in cooperation with the Department of Tourism.
