‘Bugal kang Antique’ bared
Saturday, June 3, 2006 @ 5:55 pmSAN JOSE, Antique, April 26, 2006 — “Bugal kang Antique,” the recognition of Antique’s illustrious sons and daughters, is one of the major activities of the Binirayan Festival.
This honors Antiqueños who have shown true Antiqueño character: strength, dedication to work/duty, and the will to excel despite the odds. The awarding is slated on April 29, 6 p.m. at the EBJ Freedom Park.
The awardees for this year’s Bugal kang Antique are:
- Ma. Eugenia Maza Lao Sunthara (Sibalom) - Layas Antiqueño Award
- Alberto Solis (Patnongon) - Layas Antiqueño for Community Leadership
- Melinda Pechangco Libberman (Pandan) - Community Service
- Chrizel Lagunday (Sibalom) - Sports
- Felimon Espares (Barbaza Multi Purpose Cooperative) - Entrepreneurship and
- Dr. Luningning Elio Villa (Laua-an) - Government Service.
Two posthumous awards will be conferred this year. The Datu Lubay Achievement Awards for the late Lorna Revilla Montilla.
The late Gov. Evelio B. Javier, Antique’s hero and founder of the Binirayan Festival, will likewise be honored with the Datu Sumakwel Award.
In relation to the 20th Death Anniversary of Evelio Javier, the EBJ Youth Leadership Awards will be given to outstanding youth leaders. Recipients of the said award are Ariston Miñez III of Saint Anthony’s College and Lu Anne Ballarta of Northern Antique Vocational School.
This recognition to Antique’s who have marked their names in various fields of endeavors started during the time of the late Gov. Evelio B. Javier. The search was designed to explore the inherent qualities in productivity, potentials and ingenuity of the Antiqueños.
It also recognizes the attributes of Antiqueños who exemplify outstanding qualities and ideals the province can be proud of.
The event aims to honor the people who have sown seeds of love, justice, peace and freedom worthy for the community to emulate.

Wow, Antique is a very nice provine I never thought that it has a wonderful spot I wish i can go there……….But other said has many witches ther I’m scared

i hate the provincial road to northern part of panda all the way to libertad its not wow!!!!! its like a pain in my neck… pls do something about it

taga SAN PEDRO takon… i haven’t gone home for like 10 years and i really miss my place, my family, my friends, everybody. .. especially the SHOOKY group.. miss you all guys!!! i really miss singing in front of my kababayans … hope to see you all when i get home.
