I am very glad to know that Pandan is known for its eco-tourism industry and its concern of our environment. My parents are both from Pandan. My mother is of Alonsagay clan and my father is of nearby province of Aklan.

My Mom, Librada Ang Zaldivar, whose parents Maximino Ledesma Zaldivar and Uldarica Torres Ang, both hailed from Pandan, the father being the younger brother of Justice Calixto O. Zaldivar, is a Pandananon by heart though she was born and raised in Manila and eventually settled in General Santos City. She would always refer back to Pandan when tracing her roots.Having not been there as yet, I dream to go there too someday and find out for myself the rich cultural heritage that both of my grandparents grew up with and was passed on to us, the next generation of Zaldivar.I take pride in knowing that I came from an influential political clan of Antique, Gov. Sally Zaldivar-Perez being my Mom’s 1st cousin, BM Calixto Zaldivar III, my cousin, Mayor John Sanchez who’s another cousin and the rest of other former political scions like my own Grand-uncle, Justice Calixto O. Zaldivar who was the former Governor and former Ambassador Enrique A. Zaldivar who was also a former Governor, my Mom’s 1st cousin. I can go on relating my story here, the bottomline is that I am virtually a Pandananon too. I may not have the accent when I speak the local dialect the best way I can but I know I can relate some way and it’s a great feeling to be connected somehow. Mayad man nga kamaan takun maghambal it pandananon! thanks to my cousins who are a big help polishing my grammar…Kudos to you guys who took part in coming up with this idea!
