Sports and Recreation

Aside from the Alexander Liberman Memorial Sports Complex, the municipal plaza and school grounds, the people use multi-purpose pavements and barangay center as area for sports and recreation. For the most part they are utilized as basketball or volleyball court and at the other times as dance square. Some public school sites have adequate space that serves as sports fields.

Popular sports are basketball and volleyball. The Municipal Youth and Sports Development Council (MYSDC) conduct a yearly Palarong Pambayan, Inter-Barangay Sportsfest with the Sangguniang Kabataan as its partner.

Basketball and volleyball tournaments are played especially during school days in which the DECS conduct their own regular sports activities while the Palarong Pambayan usually being undertaken during summertime and fiestas. Sports tournament in several barangays are also being undertaken by the Sangguniang Kabataan in connection with their fiesta celebration.

Other sports and recreational facilities are the Pandan People's park, the billiard hall located at Brgy. Centro Norte and a cockpit arena located at Brgy. San Andres.

Other forms of passive recreation include outing and swimming having excellent areas for such facilities, a white beach in Brgy. Duyong, and Malumpati Health Spring and Tourist Resort located in Brgy. Guia.

The municipality of Pandan possesses natural landscape that are potential for development into recreation areas. There are potential sites for eco-tourism and recreation for nature lovers.
